"Shadow of the Night" - Band Review

Hull R&B trio The Gang have been picked to play at the Leeds and Reading Festivals. The threesome, made up of Rapper Tony Iluobe, velvet-voiced singer Chima Etekochay, aka Ceekay, and producer Trea Barber, alias Heatrock, will play the festival's BBC Introducing Stage after beating 70 other hopefuls to land a place on the prestigious bill. Tony said the event would be a great opportunity to showcase the band at the festival, which will welcome 150,000 revellers later this month.

The high-profile slot comes at the same time as the band's track Shadow Of The Night is receiving profile-raising airplay on BBC Radio 1 and on the MTV Flava channel.

Tony said: "We're absolutely ecstatic to have been chosen. "Things really seem to be taking off for us at the moment and to even be playing at the same festival as people like Dizzee Rascal and Guns N' Roses is mind-blowing. We hope it will be a stepping stone to greater things."

The band boasts a diverse background, which takes in New York, London, Nigeria and Peterborough, the threesome have been a unit since meeting in Hull three years ago. The trio have already shared stages with stars such as N-Dubz, Taio Cruz and Tinchy Stryder, and will be making a return performance at Tickton's Tribfest this month after being well-received there last year.
